The Structure and Display Principle of High Brightness LCD

High brightness LCD from the structure, belongs to the flat panel display device. Its basic structure, in the shape of a flat panel. Typical bright LCD basic structure: it is mainly composed of front and rear polarizer, front and rear ITO conductive glass sheet, sealing edge and liquid crystal, and several other major components. Of course, different types of high-brightness LCDs may have different parts, such as phase-change type, PDLC, multi-stable high-brightness LCDs without polarizers, active-matrix high-brightness LCDs with active-matrix circuitry on the substrate, etc., but all high-brightness LCDs can be considered as two lithographed transparent conductive electrodes on the substrate, sandwiching a liquid crystal layer, sealed into a flat box, sometimes on the outer surface May also be mounted on the polarizer and other components

A bright LCD screen constitutes the three basic components and characteristics of the liquid crystal display device

1、Liquid crystal

Liquid crystal material is the main body of the high brightness LCD screen. Different devices used in liquid crystal materials are different, liquid crystal materials are mostly made of several or even a dozen single liquid crystal materials mixed. Each liquid crystal material has its own fixed brightness TL and crystallization point TS. therefore also requires each bright LCD must be used and stored in the TS – TL between a certain temperature range, if the use or preservation of the temperature is too low, the crystallization will destroy the bright LCD orientation layer; and if the temperature is too high, the liquid crystal will lose the liquid crystal state, it also lost the function of the liquid crystal display device.


2、Glass substrate

This is an extremely flat surface of the float production of thin glass sheet. The surface is vaporized with a layer of In2O3 and SiO2 transparent conductive layer, that is, the ITO film layer. By photolithographic processing made of transparent conductive graphics, these graphics by the pixel graphics and external lead graphics. Therefore, the outer lead cannot be soldered conventionally, but can only be connected by conductive rubber strips or conductive tape. If scratched, cut or corroded, it will cause the device to be scrapped.



Polarizer, also known as a polarizer, is made of plastic film material. Coated with a layer of optical pressure-sensitive adhesive, can be attached to the surface of the LCD box. There is a protective film on the surface of the former polarizer, which should be removed when using, the polarizer is afraid of high temperature and high humidity, which will make it depolarize or blister under high temperature and high humidity conditions.


Second, the display principle of high brightness LCD

The two glass substrates are equipped with matching film, so the liquid crystal will be along with the groove matching, with a dipole moment of the liquid crystal rod-like molecules in the role of the external electric field of its arrangement state changes, so that the light through the liquid crystal display device is modulated, so as to present the bright and dark or through and not through the display effect. Each display pixel in the high brightness LCD can be controlled by the electric field individually, and different display pixels can be composed of different characters, numbers, and graphics on the display according to the command of the control signal. Therefore, it is the function of the LCD driver and LCD controller to establish the electric field required for the display and to control the combination of display pixels.
