It is different from the normal TFT module since it intergrades with the CPU, LCD drivers, 128 MB flash memory and a UART interface for data communication. You can use it as a touch screen controller in many fields even in outdoor applications like energy projects, public transfer system or automation projects.

1. What is the communication protocol for the STONE products?
A: The communication protocol is a customized command set.
Setting the number of input data bits is 4 bit, click "Data entering" button to input "1234 ", click "OK", and the UART returns to the command:
A5 5A 06 83 00 20 01 04 D2
A5 5A: Frame head
06: command byte length, 83 00 20 01 04 D2 total 6 bytes (without frame header)
83: Read variable register command
00 20: Variable address, set in control properties
01: Data word length, 04 D2 total 1-word length
04 D2: Data content, 1234 hexadecimal data
2. Can we use the CANBUS/MODBUS protocol to communicate with the STONE product?
A: No. The CANBUS/MODBUS protocol is not supported for now.
3. Can we use Arduino as the controller of the STONE product?
A: Yes. Arduino has the TTL signal pin. You can directly use the STONE display with the TTL interface (please contact our staff to confirm the interface type). Or you can use the MAX3323 chip to converter the TTL signal to the RS232 signal.
You can check the link to get the specific steps:
4. Can we use Raspberry Pi as the controller of the STONE product?
A: Yes. Raspberry Pi provides build-in/mini UART. They are implemented using different hardware blocks, so they have slightly different characteristics. However, both are 3.3V devices, which means extra care must be taken when connecting up to an RS232 or another system that utilizes different voltage levels.

STONE TECH is working in the TFT LCD display area for over 15 years and has served over a thousand customers all over the world. We have a professional team to handle your technical questions, business issues or other requirements.
Different from the normal TFT modules, the STONE product is already embedded with a CORTEX M4 CPU and LCD drivers. So you don’t have to re-design the driver or system for the display. This will greatly save your developing cost and time for your project.
The STONE display is using a high-quality component and get certifications of CE/FC/ROHS/ISO9001. It is stable enough to work in a harsh environment like high/low temperatures, high humidity or long-time working.
